The house will be completely transformed

Cheshire East Council grants planning consent for an ambitious home renovation of a four-bedroom family home in Bollington.

This post-war dwelling is home to a growing family and was in need of modernisation. The homeowners quickly identified that there were some fundamental issues with the house's layout and wanted to improve its presence in the streetscape.

The brief was to create a fresh uplifting series of spaces, clean and modern with lots of natural light wherever possible. The proposals included the demolition of historically poor additions to the existing house, and fundamentally extending and remodelling the modest dwelling into a spectacular modern family home.

In addition to a new open feature hallway and gallery landing leading to an open-plan kitchen-dining-living space, media room, work-from-home office, workshop area and double garage, at ground-floor level, the proposals create a new master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and dressing area and enlarged bedrooms for the children.
